Shop

Catty Shack is a one stop shop, for everything you need that is catapult related. We stock everything from lightweight clay ball set-ups for garden fun, right up to big 14mm steel balls, and the equipment to use them!

We have multiple different catapults and bands, to suit everybody’s needs! Whether that is hunting, or target practice. You’re never too old…or too young, to enjoy the timeless, humble catapult. It’s practically a rite of passage as a child to own and use one of these!

We sell kits to get you started, along with instructional videos which can be found in a lot of the product descriptions, or you can take a look at our YouTube channel; Catty Shack Hunter. Please be advised that there are also videos of hunting on this channel, so viewer discretion is advised.

Myself, I have been shooting a catapult since I was around 8 years old, and hunting with one since 10 years old…basically as soon as I was allowed out of the house on my own! I’m 46 now, so that’s around 38 years, and there’s been a lot of changes! The accuracy that is achievable now, and the understanding of it, is WAY beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

There’s still a large following of the old style of catapults, and long may it continue! There really is an art in this form of shooting, and is great to watch the style and flare of some shooters flowing techniques. Far better than watching the anchored in aimed style, but there’s no denying, (in my opinion) if you want extreme repeatable accuracy, aimed style is where it’s at, and is my preferred style these days.

For hunting, I personally mostly shoot the EVO style frame, with Red Shot bands, and 11.9mm steel. I alter the thickness and taper of my band according the season. In the summer I will use 0.85mm Red Shot, with a 25/20 taper, and in the winter, I will switch to 1mm Red Shot, with a 25/17 taper.
